Dress: Modest attire is expected in public spaces and at religious sites. Women should cover shoulders and knees; men should avoid sleeveless tops at mosques.

Prayer times: Five daily prayers — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha — are observed. Shops and venues may close briefly during prayer times.

Ramadan: During the holy month of Ramadan, opening hours for restaurants and shops change significantly. Eating, drinking and smoking in public during daylight fasting hours should be avoided out of respect. Opening hours of operation are reduced for many businesses.
